In this Episode 100 of the NEMT Experts Podcast, we talk with Cho Ndiforchu, the founder and owner of Skyline Transport, a NEMT business in Florida who won the award at the 2025 NEMTAC Conference for "NEMT Provider of the Year", on his journey and learnings in NEMT.
Top 3 takeaways:
1. He started from zero and learned fast.
Cho says he knew nothing about NEMT at first, then researched, asked questions, and built the business the “organic” way: owner-operator, doing everything himself to learn the real mechanics of the industry.
2. Brokers get you moving, performance earns you volume.
He explains how onboarding with a broker starts small, then grows as you prove reliability and meet the industry’s high entry standards (which he says is how it should be, given the patient population).
3. Growth = systems + diversification + the right tools.
Skyline scaled from 1 vehicle to 6 (aiming for 7–8), and shifted from broker-heavy to a more balanced model: roughly 50/50 broker vs. private pay/facilities/hospitals. He calls Bambi a turning point and “night and day” versus what they did before.
Top 3 quotes:
“I knew nothing about NEMT… I started knowing nothing, absolutely nothing.”
“Little did I know it was very hands-on. Very hands-on. But in a good way.”
“Bambi’s been a turning point for us… it literally was a night and day difference from what we were doing before.”
